BOOK
"Hope for the Second Generation" is a deeply personal book full of relevant stories that reveal God's Mysterious ways for His scattered people. The book is primarily about Ethiopian and Eritrean second- generation Diaspora Christians and their experience growing up in the homes of their first-generation immigrant parents, first generation immigrant churches, and the larger host culture society. Readers will:
✔ directly hear the experience of the young people in their own words
✔ be exposed to Biblical discussion about the necessity of cross- cultural ministry and church planting
✔ be exposed to missiological and theological scholarly discussion about cross cultural ministry
✔ gain greater awareness about the historical, sociological and psychological experience of old and recent immigrants to the US
✔ read the stories of four second generation Ethiopian and Eritrean church planting in four different cities, AND MORE…
Finally, the book inspires and casts second-generation church planting vision— calling on first-generation churches, leaders and parents to consider their true legacy as a missionary people to the Western world. It reminds both first and second-generation Ethiopians and Eritreans to recognize and claim that the deeper purpose of their Diaspora experience (the scattering) is not limited to their own ethnic group, rather it is for the advancement of God's kingdom to all people.
